The Ports lost in an ugly 12-1 loss to Visalia and Ben Jukick was particularly hit hard. He gave up eight runs on nine hits and he struck out two in four innings.
Javier Herrera drove in the only run of the game. Tommy Everidge doubled and he drew a walk in the loss.
The pitching was all that great in the Ports 8-7 loss to Bakersfield. Ben Jukich gave up five runs on 3 2/3 innings and Josh Alliston took the loss when he gave up the lone run in the thirteenth.
Justin Sellers was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for five with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
There were plenty of hitting stars in the Ports 11-1 over Inland Empire but Javier Herrera’s day at the plate stands out. He went three for five with a homerun and he drove in five runs. Jose Pineda went two for three with a walk, an RBI and three runs.
Ben Jukich threw six shutout innings to pick up the win. He gave up two hits and three walks with two strikeouts and the win pushes his record to 2-3 on the season.
Ben Jukich gave up four first inning runs and that’s all Inland Empire needed to pull out this game 4-3. He gave up the four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
Frank Martinez went one for three with a double and two RBIs. Cliff Pennington went two for five with a run.
The Ports beat Bakersfield 7-2 and Luke Appert had a team high four hits in the game. He drove in a run and scored while Cliff Pennington and Chad Boyd each drove in two runs.
Ben Jukich had a good enough start but because most of the Ports runs came later in the game, he didn’t get a decision. He gave up just one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts in five innings. Steven Bondurant picked up the win with two shutout relief innings.

Luke Appert hit a two run homerun to lead the Ports in the 9-6 loss. Cliff Pennington hit a solo homerun.
Stockton’s pitching didn’t get it done in this game but it didn’t help that the defense made four errors. Ben Jukich gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
At the plate, Steve Kleen provided the bulk of the runs in the 8-4 loss. He went two for five with a homerun and three RBIs.
