The River Cats won their sixth straight playoff game to capture their third PCL championship in five years in a 4-3 win over the Zephyrs. Brad Knox was cruising along until he gave up a three run homer in the eighth inning that made it close but the River Cats buckled down and pulled of the win. Knox gave up three three runs on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
Brian Stavisky went two for four with a run and an RBI. Brant Colamarino doubled, drove in a run and scored.
The River Cats needed a win and that’s what they got although they still have a tough road to climb. Brad Knox got it done on the mound and he gave up four runs on seven hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Julio Manon struck out four batters in 1 2/3 innings as he closed out the game.
Gregorio Petit went three for four with two runs in the win. Lou Merloni went two for four with a double, a solo homer and two runs.
Lou Merloni had a nice day at the plate in the River Cats 9-7 win over Las Vegas. He went two for five with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Dee Brown went two for three with a double, a walk and three RBIs.
Brad Knox improved to 9-5 despite a pretty poor start. He gave up six runs on nine hits in five innings.
Brad Knox got it done on the mound for the River Cats in their 7-2 win over the Sky Sox. He gave up two runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
Daric Barton was a perfect four for four in the win. JD Closser went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and a run scored.
The River Cats scored three late runs to come behind in their 5-4 win over Colorado Springs. Kevin Melillo had another big game and he went two for four with a double, a homerun and three RBIs. He’s now driven in 28 and scored 30 in just 38 games. Jason Perry also went yard and he hit a two run homer.
Brad Knox was touched up for four runs in five innings but the pen and hitters picked him up. Shawn Kohn picked up the win with three shutout innings of relief pitching.
Jason Perry had a huge day at the plate today in Midland’s 9-3 win over Corpus Christi. He went two for four with two homeruns and four RBIs. Vince Faison also had a nice game and he went two for five with a homerun, a triple, three RBIs and two runs.
Brad Knox gave up three runs in 6 2/3 innings but because most of Midland’s runs came late, he didn’t get a decision. Jeffrey Gray improve to 2-0 and he threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
Midland beat San Antonio 2-1 tonight with both runs coming on a single hit. Vince Faison hit a two run homer in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.
Brad Knox threw a very solid game. He gave up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Midland dropped their second game of the season behind some pretty poor relief pitching. Brad Knox had a decent start and he gave up just two runs on two hits in five innings but two different relievers were pounded for seven runs in the final three frames in the 9-3 loss.
Brian Snyder hit a solo homerun in the loss. Jeffrey Baisley went two for four with a double and a run.
Brad Knox threw six shutout innings to keep the Rockhounds undefeated. He gave up just five hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
The big hit of the game was a three run homerun by Brian Snyder to tie the game up in the bottom of the ninth. Then Vasili Spanos scored the game winner in the tenth on a Springfield error. Vince Faison had three hits in the game.
