The Ports got plenty of offense in their 12-2 win over Visalia but Chad Boyd was the biggest contributor. He went two for five with a double, a homerun and six RBIs. Anthony Recker picked up three hits and he drove in two.
Lost in all the offense was a nice start by Vincent Mazzaro. He gave up just two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Jose Guzman was hit hard in the Ports 11-5 loss to Bakersfield. He gave up six runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in four innings of work.
Chad Boyd provided most of the offense in the loss. He went two for four with a double, a homerun and three RBIs.
The Ports beat Bakersfield 7-2 and Luke Appert had a team high four hits in the game. He drove in a run and scored while Cliff Pennington and Chad Boyd each drove in two runs.
Ben Jukich had a good enough start but because most of the Ports runs came later in the game, he didn’t get a decision. He gave up just one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts in five innings. Steven Bondurant picked up the win with two shutout relief innings.
Stockton managed just six hits in their 2-0 shutout loss to Visalia. Chad Boyd was the only Port hitter to have two hits.
A solid start by Michael Madsen went to waste. He gave up two runs on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.
The Stockton Ports were held to just three hits in a shutout loss to San Jose. Chad Boyd had the only extra base hit of the game with a double.
The pitching wasn’t that much better as three pitchers each gave up at least a run. Jared Lansford took the loss and he gave up four runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings of work.
