The River Cats scored two runs in the top of the eight to take a 5-4 lead but then Ron Flores gave up two runs in the bottom half of the inning as the River Cats lost it 6-5. Jason Windsor wasn’t all that great in his start and he gave up four runs on five hits and six walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
J.J. Furmaniak and Jason Stokes each hit homeruns. Stokes was with a man on while Furmaniak’s was a solo shot.
The River Cats scored four late runs to complete a come from behind win over Las Vegas. Jason Stokes had a nice game and he went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs while Hiram Bocachica went three for four with two runs in the 6-4 win.
Erasmo Ramirez picked up the win with a shutout eighth and he improved to 2-0 on the season. Shane Kosmine had a decent start and he gave up three runs on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Colby Lewis picked up his first win of the season with 6 2/3 shutout innings. He gave up just three hits and three walks and he struck out four.
Jason Stokes was the hitting star. He went two for two with two walks and a solo homerun.
The River Cats poured on the offense in their 9-1 win over Portland. Jason Stokes led the way with a big game at the plate. He went two for three with a homerun and five RBIs. Daric Barton was two for two with two walks and two runs.
Lost in all of the run scoring was a solid start by Jason Windsor. He gave up just a single run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in seven innings.
