The Cougars ran up the scored on the Lugnuts and won their fourth straight game in a 16-4 win. Greg Dowling went four for six with two homers, five RBIs and two runs. Michael Massaro went five for six with two RBIs and two runs.
James Heuser improved to 10-6 with the win. He gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
Cougars’ pitching gave up 13 runs on 20 hits in a 13-6 loss to Burlington. Four different pitchers gave up at least three runs and it was John Herrera who picked up the loss. He gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings and the loss drops him to 2-7 on the season.
Jermaine Mitchell went two for five with two RBIs and a run. Michael Massaro went three for five with a double, an RBI and two runs.
Kane County hitters were held in check and in all, they picked up just five hits. Michael Massero was the hitting star and he went two for three with an RBI.
Derrick Gordon took the loss. He gave up one run on three walks in 1 2/3 innings.
John Herrera was hit hard and he took the loss in the Cougars 9-2 loss. He gave up four runs on seven hits and five walks with one strikeout. The loss dropped his record to 2-3 on the season.
Jermaine Mitchell had two hits and he drove in a run. Michael Massaro and Matthew Sulentic each had two hits and a run in the loss.
Michael Massaro was a perfect four for four with a run and an RBI in the Cougars 6-3 win over the the Loons. Michael Affronti doubled, drove in a run and scored in the win.
James Heuser picked up the win with a nice start. He gave up just two runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in seven innings. The win pushes his record to 2-1 on the season.
