The Rockhounds lost 2-1 to San Antonio as their offense was held to just one run on four hits. The lone run of the game came on a solo homer by Casey Myers.
A pretty good start by Michael Madsen went to waste. He gave up just one run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six innings.
Kazuhito Tadano struck out seven batters in 6 1/3 shutout innings in the RockHounds 1-0 win. He now has 26 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings in what’s turning out to be a nice start to his season.
Jason Perry drove in the only run of the game for either side. Vince Faison walked twice and he scored the only run.
Midland effectively played a double header and lost it 7-6. The Rockhounds came from behind to score two in the ninth to take the lead but then they gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra frames. Each team scored two runs in the seventeenth and then Brian Snyder gave up the losing run in the bottom of th eighteenth.
The Rockhounds were held in check at the plate and they picked up just ten hits in the eighteen innings. Georgio Petit was the hitting star and he went two for seven with a walk and three RBIs.
Jason Perry had a huge day at the plate today in Midland’s 9-3 win over Corpus Christi. He went two for four with two homeruns and four RBIs. Vince Faison also had a nice game and he went two for five with a homerun, a triple, three RBIs and two runs.
Brad Knox gave up three runs in 6 2/3 innings but because most of Midland’s runs came late, he didn’t get a decision. Jeffrey Gray improve to 2-0 and he threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
Midland had several hitting stars in their 11-5 blowout win over Corpus Christi. Richie Robnett went three for six with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. Georgio Petit had four hits and two RBIs while Brant Colamarino had two hits and three RBIs.
Brad Ziegler picked up the win in a solid relief appearance. He gave up two hits with one strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
Jeffrey Baisley was the Rockhounds hitting star in their 4-3 win over Corpus Christi. He went three for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs. Landon Powell finished with two hits and one of those was a solo homerun.
Andy Shipman picked up the win with four shutout innings of relief. He gave up just one hit and he struck out four.
There wasn’t much solid pitching in the Rockhounds 9-8 loss to San Antonio. Kazuhito Tadano gave up five runs in six innings and Jeffrey Coleman gave up four runs in just 2/3 of an inning.
Danny Putnam had a monster game at the plate. He went two for four with a double, a homerun and five RBIs. Richie Robnett homered and he scored two runs.
Midland scored just one run in their 3-1 loss to San Antonio. The lone run was scored by Eduardo Cornejo in the sixth inning.
Benjamin Fritz took the loss. He gave up two runs on ten hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
Midland beat San Antonio 2-1 tonight with both runs coming on a single hit. Vince Faison hit a two run homer in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.
Brad Knox threw a very solid game. He gave up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Midland blew out San Antonio 10-4 and there were plenty of hitting stars in this one. Jeffrey Baisley and Jason Perry each drove in three runs while Vince Faison finished with a team high three hits and he scored three times.
Mario Ramos was hit hard in his start and he gave up four runs in four innings but the pen and the hitters picked him up. Michael Rogers picked up the win with two shutout innings.

Myron Leslie was the hitting star. He went two for three with a double, a walk and a run.
The Rock Hounds had plenty of hitting start in their 15-1 win over Arkansas. The big hitter though was Richie Robnett. He went three for four and he came a single short of hitting for the cycle. He drove in five and scored three times in the win.
Lost in all the offense was a great start by Benjamin Fritz. He gave up just a single run on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts in the win.
Midland dropped their second game of the season behind some pretty poor relief pitching. Brad Knox had a decent start and he gave up just two runs on two hits in five innings but two different relievers were pounded for seven runs in the final three frames in the 9-3 loss.
Brian Snyder hit a solo homerun in the loss. Jeffrey Baisley went two for four with a double and a run.
Richie Robnett hit an eighth inning two run homerun to push the Rockhounds to a 4-3 win over Springfield. Jason Perry was the other hitting star. He went three for four with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.
Dallas Braden had a solid start and he gave up two runs on three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.
Landon Powell hit a bit three run homerun and Eduardo Cornejo doubled home a run in the Rockhounds 4-3 win in the second game of a double header with Arkansas. Kevin Deaton threw five decent innings and Jeffrey Gray picked up the win with two innings of solid relief.
The first game was pretty ugly as the Rockhounds lost 9-1. Josh Alliston was pounded for six runs in 1 2/3 innings and the lone run came on a sac. fly by Casey Myers.
The Rockhounds outlasted Arkansas in a 7-6, twelve inning win. Jeffrey Baisley had a huge game. He went three for four with two homeruns, two walks, three RBIs and two runs. Danny Putnam also helped out with two doubles and four RBIs.
Benjamin Fritz was roughed up in his start while Brad Ziegler picked up the win with a no hit twelth inning.
Brad Knox threw six shutout innings to keep the Rockhounds undefeated. He gave up just five hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
The big hit of the game was a three run homerun by Brian Snyder to tie the game up in the bottom of the ninth. Then Vasili Spanos scored the game winner in the tenth on a Springfield error. Vince Faison had three hits in the game.
Vince Faison and Danny Putnam led the way on offense for the Rockhounds in their season opener. Faison had two hits, three RBIs and a run while Putnam hit a three run shot in the seventh inning to blow the game open. Brian Snyder had a good game as well with two hits and two runs.
Dallas Braden picked up the win in six solid innings. He gave up just a single run on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
