Dan Meyer Strikes Out Nine In River Cats Win

Dan Meyer improved to 2-0 on the season with five quality innings.  He gave up two runs on three hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.

Dee Brown hit a solo homerun in the 7-3 win.  Jason Perry went three for four with a run.

River Cats Come From Behind to Beat Isotopes

Jason Perry singled home Dee Brown in the eighth inning to tie the game and then Nick Blasi scored on Kevin Mellilo’s RBI single in the ninth to win it 5-4.  Jeremy Brown finished the game one for one with a double, two RBIs and two walks.

Santiago Casilla got just one batter one but it was the final batter so he picked up the win.  His record improved to 2-1.

RiverCats Offense Shut Down In Loss to Isotopes

The River Cats picked up just two runs on seven hits in their 4-2 loss to the Isotopes.  Mark Kotsay was the only River Cat with two hits and he went two for four with a walk.

Shane Komine took the loss and he dropped to 2-5 on the season.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Brad Knox Pitches River Cats to Win Over Colorado Springs

Brad Knox got it done on the mound for the River Cats in their 7-2 win over the Sky Sox.  He gave up two runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.

Daric Barton was a perfect four for four in the win.  JD Closser went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and a run scored.

Esteban Loaiza Ineffective In Rehab Start

The River Cats lost 5-4 and a lot of the damage was given up by three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk in four rehab innings.  Brad Ziegler gave up two runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings and he took the loss.

Jason Perry was the hitting star in the win.  He went two for four with an RBI.

Dan Meyer Hit Hard In River Cats Loss

The River Cats lost 5-4 and Dan Meyer was particularly hit hard in the loss.  He gave up four runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

JD Closser singled and drove in two runs in the loss.  Kurt Suzuki went two for three with a double, a run and an RBI.

Jason Perry’s Slam Pushes River Cats To Win Over Sky Sox

Jason Perry hit a huge first inning grand slam to push the River Cats to an 8-1 win over the Sky Sox.  Daric Barton had a great day at the plate.  He went four for five with a double, a run and an RBI.

Lost in all the offense was a nice start by Kazuhito Tadano.  He gave up five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings.  He’s now thrown 12 2/3 shutout innings since getting promoted to Sacramento and he’s struck out 14.

Shane Komine Pitches River Cats to Win Over Salt Lake

Shane Komine improved to 2-5 on the season with a nice start in the River Cats 3-1 win over Salt Lake.  He gave up one run on six hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Kevin Melillo hit a solo homerun in the win.  It was his sixth homerun of the season.

Jason Windsor Hit Hard in River Cats Loss

Jason Windsor had a tough start in the River Cats 7-2 loss to Salt Lake. He gave up seven runs on ten hits and three walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Daric Barton went two for four with a solo homerun in the loss. Kevin Melillo went two for four with a double and a solo homerun.

River Cats Offense Shut Down In Loss to Salt Lake

The River Cats were held to two runs on six hits in their 4-2 loss to Salt Lake.  Nicholas Blasi had two of those hits and he drove in both of the runs.

Esteban Loaiza was hit hard in his rehab start.  He gave up three runs on five hits with two strikeouts.

River Cats Blow Three Run Lead In Loss to Salt Lake

The River Cats ran into Howie Kendrick in his rehab stint and he almost single handedly cost the River Cats the game.  He hit a three run homer off of Jeffrey Grey that was the game winner and he also drove in the only run against starter Dan Meyer.

Donnie Murphy was the hitting star in the 4-3 loss.  He went two for four with a double and a run.

Kazuhito Tadano Shines In First Triple A Start This Season

It’s the third time Kaz Tadano had a stint in Triple A and he shined in his first start for the River Cats this year.  He gave up four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 6 2/3 shutout innings.

J.J. Furmaniak was the hitting star in the 3-0 win. He went two for four with a homerun and two runs scored.

Shane Komine Hit Hard in River Cats Loss

Shane Komine dropped to 1-5 on the season with a tough start.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks with a season high eight strikeouts in seven innings.

Jeremy Brown provided most of the offense in the 5-3 loss.  He doubled, drove in two and scored a run.

Jason Windsor Pitches River Cats to Win Over Colorado Springs

Jason Windsor had a nice start in the River Cats 5-3 win over Colorado Springs.  He gave up two runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.  The win improved his record to 5-2 on the season.

Jason Perry had the big hit of the game.  His three run homer was the difference in the River Cats win.

River Cats Edge Colorado Springs 5-4

The River Cats scored three late runs to come behind in their 5-4 win over Colorado Springs.  Kevin Melillo had another big game and he went two for four with a double, a homerun and three RBIs.  He’s now driven in 28 and scored 30 in just 38 games.  Jason Perry also went yard and he hit a two run homer.

Brad Knox was touched up for four runs in five innings but the pen and hitters picked him up.  Shawn Kohn picked up the win with three shutout innings of relief pitching.

River Cats Blow Ninth Inning Lead, Lose In Ten Innings

Jeffrey Gray had a pretty tough outing.  He took a two run lead into the ninth and gave up two runs to send the game into extra frames.  Then he gave up a two run homer in the bottom of the tenth as he took the loss in the 6-4 game. 

Lou Merloni had a nice game for the River Cats. He went three for four with a run and an RBI.  Jason Perry and Nicholas Blasi each had three hits in the game.

J.J. Furmaniak Homers Twice in River Cats Win

J.J. Furmaniak went yard twice and he drove in three runs in the River Cats 12-2 win over Iowa.  Hiram Bocachica also had a nice day at the plate and he went two for five with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.

Colby Lewis picked up the win and he improved to 5-1 with a nice outing.  He gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.

Shane Komine Hammered In Loss to Iowa

Shane Komine was hit hard and he dropped to 1-4 on the season with a tough start against the Cubs.  He gave up seven runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in three innings.  Shawn Kohn was also hit hard and he gave up six runs in just two innings.

Jason Perry had a nice game in the 17-7 loss.  He went two for four with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs.  Kevin Melillo went three for five with a homerun and three runs.
