Ports Beat Bakersfield in Ninth Inning

by @ 11:43 pm. Filed under Stockton Ports - April 2007, Steve Kleen, Vincent Mazzaro, Jason Ray

This game was tied 2-2 for the longest time.  Then the Ports scored two runs in the eighth only to see Bakersfield score two in the top of the ninth to tie it.  Fortunately, the Ports got it done and picked up a run in the bottom of the ninth to win it.

Steve Kleen had a solid game at the plate. He went two for three with a run and an RBI.  Vincent Mazzaro had a decent start but he didn’t pick up a decision.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings.  Jason Ray blew the save and gave up two runs but because of the ninth inning run by the Ports, he ended up with the win.
