Vincent Mazzaro fell to 9-11 on the season in a rough start in the Ports 8-5 loss to Lake Elsinore. He gave up six runs on six hits and four walks with one strikeout in five innings of work.
Michael Affronti doubled, drove in two runs and scored. Steve Kleen went two for four and he drove in a run.
Steve Kleen led the way at the plate in the Ports 10-7 win over High Desert. He went four for five with a double, a triple, three RBIs and two runs. Jose Pineda went two for four with a double, a homerun and three RBIs.
Bobby Cramer improved to 2-0 on the season with a decent start. He gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in five innings.
Steve Kleen was the hitting star in the Ports 7-4 win over Visalia. He went two for four with an RBI and two runs. Jose Pineda went one for two with a homerun and two runs scored.
Eric Sheridan picked up the win with 2 2/3 innings of relief. He gave up a run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout.
Michael Madsen picked up his first win of the season in the Ports 7-1 win over Bakersfield. He gave up just two hits and three walks with five strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Most of the Ports offense came in the ninth when they scored six runs. Steve Kleen singled twice, drove in three and scored a run while Luke Appert had two hits and two runs.
This game was tied 2-2 for the longest time. Then the Ports scored two runs in the eighth only to see Bakersfield score two in the top of the ninth to tie it. Fortunately, the Ports got it done and picked up a run in the bottom of the ninth to win it.
Steve Kleen had a solid game at the plate. He went two for three with a run and an RBI. Vincent Mazzaro had a decent start but he didn’t pick up a decision. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Jason Ray blew the save and gave up two runs but because of the ninth inning run by the Ports, he ended up with the win.
Stockton’s pitching didn’t get it done in this game but it didn’t help that the defense made four errors. Ben Jukich gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings of work.

All those walks and the Ports got edged by San Jose 6-4. Cliff Pennington had a single and two RBIs while Steve Kleen had two hits and a run.
Ryan Webb took the loss in a tough outing. He gave up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
