Vincent Mazzaro fell to 9-11 on the season in a rough start in the Ports 8-5 loss to Lake Elsinore. He gave up six runs on six hits and four walks with one strikeout in five innings of work.
Michael Affronti doubled, drove in two runs and scored. Steve Kleen went two for four and he drove in a run.
The Ports had a tough time at the plate in a 5-1 loss to Visalia. Anthony Recker was the only guy who seemed to be able to put it together and he went two for three with a double, a walk and a run.
Vincent Mazzaro took the loss and he dropped to 6-7 on the season. He gave up four runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings.
Vincent Mazzaro had a great day on the mound and he improved to 6-5 on the season in the Ports 5-1 win. He gave up just one run on one hit and three walks with twelve strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Cliff Pennington was the hitting star in the win. He went two for two with two walks, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Vincent Mazzaro had a rough start in the Ports blowout loss to Modesto. He gave up four runs on six hits and five walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings and the loss drops him to 5-5 on the season
Jose Pineda was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with a homerun and three RBIs.
The Ports got plenty of their offense in a 9-6 win over San Jose. Javier Herrera led the way though and he went three for five with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Luke Appert went three for three with a double, a run and an RBI.
Vincent Mazzaro didn’t have his best stuff but he improved to 5-4 with all of the offense. He gave up five runs on eight hits and five walks with five strikeouts in five innings.
The Ports got plenty of offense in their 12-2 win over Visalia but Chad Boyd was the biggest contributor. He went two for five with a double, a homerun and six RBIs. Anthony Recker picked up three hits and he drove in two.
Lost in all the offense was a nice start by Vincent Mazzaro. He gave up just two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Three hits won’t normally cut it and that’s all the Ports got in their 5-0 loss to Inland Empire. Ironically, all three hits were doubles but even with the extra base hits, they couldn’t push a run across the plate.

The Ports took a 7-2 lead in their game against Visalia, only to see it practically disappear with two runs in each of the eight and ninth innings. Fortunately, that’s as far as things got and the Ports won it 7-6. Vincent Mazzaro picked up the win and he improved to 2-0 on the season. He gave up two runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Anthony Recker had a big game with a homerun and three RBIs. Nicholas Blasi went two for three with an RBI and two runs.
Tommy Everidge had a great day at the plate in the Ports 9-5 win. He was a perfect four for four with two RBIs and a run. Cliff Pennington walked three times and he scored twice while Frank Martinez hit his first homerun of the season.
Vincent Mazzaro picked up the win despite a lackluster start. He gave up four runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
This game was tied 2-2 for the longest time. Then the Ports scored two runs in the eighth only to see Bakersfield score two in the top of the ninth to tie it. Fortunately, the Ports got it done and picked up a run in the bottom of the ninth to win it.
Steve Kleen had a solid game at the plate. He went two for three with a run and an RBI. Vincent Mazzaro had a decent start but he didn’t pick up a decision. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Jason Ray blew the save and gave up two runs but because of the ninth inning run by the Ports, he ended up with the win.
